What is BYTEREAD?

BYTEREAD is a plug-and-play CAN bus display designed for BMW vehicles. It mounts in the air vent and reads real-time engine data — including boost pressure, oil temperature, exhaust gas temperature, coolant temperature, and 20+ additional sensors — directly from the vehicle's CAN bus. Compatible with BMW E46, E60/E61, E90/E91/E92/E93, with F20, F30, and F80 series support coming via free OTA updates. BYTEREAD includes a 25Hz GPS track logger, 6-axis IMU for G-force measurement, exhaust flap control, OBD2 blocker, DTC reader, and a companion app for iOS and Android. Installation takes under 10 minutes with no wire splicing. Manufactured in Romania with a 2-year warranty.
